1:1 Somatic Coaching
A personalised space to meet yourself through the language of the body.
Our work together is shaped around your unique experiences, needs, and intentions, drawing on nervous system education, conscious breathing, embodied movement, mindfulness, and reflective inquiry.
Together, we’ll explore how to:
Awaken a deeper awareness of the relationship between your mind, body, and breath.
Track and understand your body’s unique physical stress signals.
Build a practical toolkit of discrete, real-time regulation practices.
Process stress and physical tension through gentle somatic movement.
Cultivate internal steadiness and responsiveness when navigating demanding environments.
Support a sustainable framework for ongoing, authentic personal growth and self-connection.
Is This For You?
This work is for you if you’re not where you want to be and know something in your life is asking for change. You feel ready to reconnect with a way of being that feels vibrant, awake, and alive.
Perhaps you’ve been moving through life on autopilot—thinking, managing, carrying, striving, looping, stalling, pushing through, and simply getting through each day—while sensing there’s another way to be.
You may be navigating stress, burnout, life transitions, or feeling stuck, stagnant, disconnected and unfulfilled.
Somatic work can also help you bring greater presence and embodied intelligence to specific areas of your life. The examples below are inspired by my own experience in competitive sport and legal practice:
Optimising Performance
Whether on the tennis court or in another high-performance environment, learn to stay loose, focused, and responsive under pressure instead of “getting tight” or overwhelmed in key moments.
Expanding Your Leadership Capacity
Remain grounded, attentive, clear-headed, and adaptable in demanding roles and situations, responding thoughtfully rather than reacting from stress or defensiveness.Deepening Your Relationships
Develop greater awareness of your patterns so you can communicate with clarity, stay connected during difficult conversations, and respond with intention instead of withdrawing or reacting impulsively.
By learning the language of your body with curiosity and compassion, you'll build the capacity to meet life's complexities with greater presence, resilience, and connection—to yourself, to others, and to the life you're creating.
“Many people miss out on themselves completely as they journey through life. They know others, they know places, they know skills, they know their work, but tragically, they do not know themselves at all.”
Frequently Asked Questions
It’s completely normal to have questions before embarking on something that might be new or unfamiliar. Here are some of the most common questions I receive.
-
Traditional coaching and talk therapy operate primarily in the realm of the mind—focusing on thoughts, analysis, and language. Somatic coaching recognises that our lived experience and patterns of chronic stress live not only in the mind, but in the body.
Rather than spending our time analysing the past or rehashing old narratives, we meet your system exactly where it is right now. We work with your current physiology to address how those past patterns are actively showing up in your day-to-day life.
Instead of just talking about overwhelm or tracking why you feel stuck, we focus on immediate felt sensations to understand what is happening in your body. Through embodied breath and gentle movement, we cultivate the insight and presence needed to safely shift your baseline from a state of survival to one of grounded stability. It’s mindfulness you can feel.
-
Being trauma-informed means creating a space grounded in choice and personal agency. It acknowledges that everyone’s nervous system carries a unique history of protective patterns—such as perpetual striving, perfectionism, hyper-vigilance, or stalling.
In our sessions, there is no forcing, no "pushing through," and no need to get anything “right.” We move at the exact pace of your body, treating your internal sensations with deep respect and curiosity. You are always entirely in control of your own practice. My role is to act as a supportive guide to your system, rather than an external "expert" there to fix you.
-
The term “nervous system dysregulation” is often used to describe what happens when we feel caught in patterns of stress, activation, exhaustion or disconnection — and find it difficult to return to a sense of ease.
You might notice that you:
feel constantly “on”, rushed or unable to slow down
find it difficult to rest, even when you have the opportunity
experience persistent tension in your jaw, neck or shoulders
feel anxious, irritable or overwhelmed more easily than usual
feel exhausted, flat or disconnected from yourself
find yourself moving through the day on autopilot
have difficulty noticing or responding to what your body needs
These experiences are not a diagnosis, and they can have many different causes. Rather than trying to label yourself as “regulated” or “dysregulated”, it can be more helpful to become curious about your patterns and how you experience stress in your body.
Somatic practices can offer a way to slow down, notice what is happening in the present moment, and gently develop a greater sense of connection, choice and steadiness.
-
Every session is an organic, collaborative conversation between your mind and your body. We begin by settling into the space and noticing what is present for you in the moment. We don’t just focus on the narrative of what happened in your week; we pause to track how that narrative is living inside your physiology right now.
Depending on what your system needs, a session might involve gentle movement to release stored tension, somatic grounding practices, or trauma-informed breathing to help settle an anxious baseline. We move slowly, gently, and entirely at your pace.

Yes, absolutely. In fact, feeling disconnected, numb, or "stuck in your head" is one of the most common protective strategies a dysregulated nervous system uses to keep you safe from overwhelm.
You do not need to be flexible, highly intuitive, or already "good" at feeling your body to begin. We start exactly where you are—even if that means simply noticing the weight of your feet on the floor or the temperature of your hands.
Reconnecting with the body is a gentle process of remembering; it takes time. I have not just learned this through trainings, but I have lived and experienced it deeply within my own body.

Somatic coaching is incredibly effective online. Because it is grounded in your own internal awareness (interoception) rather than hands-on manipulation, my role is to guide, mirror, and hold space for you to witness your own system.
Whether we connect via a screen from the comfort of your own home or meet in-person in Melbourne, the depth of inquiry, tracking, and somatic regulation remains entirely the same. All you need is a private space, and a stable internet connection.
-
Yes, and they often complement each other beautifully. Many clients find that talk therapy gives them immense intellectual insight into why they feel the way they do, but they find that the physical patterns of anxiety, burnout, or tension remain stuck in their bodies.
Somatic work bridges that gap. By working from the "bottom-up" (body to mind), we help process and integrate the physiological stress that talk therapy identifies from the "top-down" (mind to body). I am always happy to work alongside your existing therapeutic support network.
-
Nervous system regulation is a process of physiological rewiring, not a quick fix. Because the patterns we are working with—like chronic striving, unhelpful breathing patterns, or autopilot survival—took years to form, your body requires time, consistency, and repetition to integrate new ways of being.
While people may experience a sense of spaciousness or relief after a single session, sustainable, deep-level shifts usually unfold over a dedicated container of work. This is why my 1:1 somatic coaching begins with a minimum multi-session commitment, allowing us to cultivate the safety and foundational tools your system needs to ground lasting change. Ultimately, my goal is to give you the knowledge and practices to be able to navigate your system entirely without me.

While yoga and meditation are beautiful, supportive practices (and ones I choose to anchor my own personal life with daily), engaging in them doesn’t automatically mean you will be or feel “well.”
Often, these modalities are shared in a highly structured, linear way where you follow an external sequence or prompt. In a studio environment, there is rarely the space or time to pause and truly explore why your body is tightening, or what specific message a physical sensation is trying to send you.
Somatic coaching is a deeply individualised, interactive relationship. Instead of trying to clear your mind or achieve an exact physical posture, we focus on the organic, real-time tracking of your specific nervous system architecture.
Rather than replacing your current practices, this work acts as the missing foundation. It gives you the internal language to safely explore what is actually happening in your body, allowing you to completely level up how you practice on the mat or cushion, and translate that mindfulness into both the ordinary and high-performance moments of your daily life.
